The only reason I'd say it isn't straight from the Logan playbook is because they've been used first, and now hoping to get what they want in return, and there's no reason to believe they'll get it.

Logan would never allow himself to be used first, and then sit around waiting for the deed to be paid on the comeback.

Logan would probably have stock in both so that he's in a decent position however the chips fall.

One phone call (or one ignored phone call) by Mencken, and suddenly they've done all they did and got nothing in return but a ruined rep and a lunatic in power who they don't have a direct line on.

Even if you re-listen to Mencken on the phone to Roman after his speech, he sounded like he was bullshyting him and didn't sound genuinely thankful.
Which is also out of the Trump playbook. Fox News helped make him and the second they didn’t give him what he wanted he threw them in the bushes and went to even more right leaning news organizations.

They definitely had another season or two they could’ve kept the show going.
I’m ok with ending on a high note. They going out as a top 5 show of all time. Last thing you want is trying to finish your story and having people quit cause they’re tired of it and want to go do something else or god forbid passing away suddenly. Jesse Armstrong is one of them ones now. I’m watching everything he does going forward and hopefully it’s with elite networks like HBO.

Shiv’s face when Tom asked if she was cap is enough for Snook to win any award she wants. The hurt and unbelief was so clearly communicated
I just cant feel bad for her, especially telling that man she never loved him an episode prior and on his most stressed night

agreed…last season the hamster started spinning the same wheel again which made me antsy about this upcoming season until it was announced that it was going to be the final season…then I became more optimistic about the show going out on a high note and telling a conclusive story rather than just have the shyt continue going in circles with the kids trying yet again to upstage the dad only to falter at the finish line…and the season has not disappointed…for me it might shape up to be the best if not the 2nd best season of the show imo…no need to run the series into the ground trying to stretch the story to accommodate for more seasons
