Zendaya Lands A Lead In Spider-Man Reboot At Sony And Marvel Studios


EXCLUSIVE: Sony and Marvel Studios are beginning to cast up their Spider-Man reboot. I’m told that actress-singer Zendayahas landed a key role in the ensemble they are building around Tom Holland, who’ll play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film to be directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car). She was among the actresses who’ve quietly been testing for roles, and I hear she will play a character named Michelle. Nobody is providing details on whether this is the romantic lead opposite Peter Parker, but it doesn’t sound like it. In the comics, Parker romanced Mary Jane and Gwen.

Holland was the first to be castso that he could be part of the ensemble in the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed Captain America: Civil War,the first film in which Spidey has cross-pollinated with the established characters in the Marvel Studios universe. That film will be released July 7, 2017, and it’s produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige.

In Zendaya, Sony has hired an up-and-coming actress who was the star of the Disney Channel series Shake It Up! and K.C. Undercover. At Harvey Weinstein’s pre-Oscar party, Zendaya charmed the house as she sang “Neverland” from Weinstein’s stage musical Finding Neverland.

It says "Michelle" which is obviously fake as hell lol. She could be MJ but she could also be Liz Allen or Stacey Avril.

Originally yeah but in ultimate spider man and everything sense, they put them in high school together. He didn't meet her or Gwen till he got to college. In high school he dated Liz Allen and Betty Brant

And I'm down with that. Greg "the man" Weisman did that with Spec spidey. Said that New York in the 2000s isn't new york in the 60s. He couldn't have an all white cast in an all white school in manhattan or queens because it makes no sense. So he made Liz hispanic, put Robbie Robertson in the school, made Ned Leeds Ned Lee, etc
