The CIA doesn’t give a shyt about money. They only care about being covert. Teddy just wanted to buy his way in back to Langley. Teddy took Franklin leaving personal and felt hurt, so being the petty piece of shyt that he is, he took his money. Little that Franklin knew is that Teddy is just as prideful and egotistical as he is. And a lot of white people in the government think just like Teddy in regard to our country. Just mad delusional about American democracy and exceptionalism. It’s one big fukking joke.

Also I just wanna say that Franklin is both a victim and a victimizer. That’s what the system does to you. It turns you inside out.

Back than they didn’t
That’s why they was involved in arms and cocaine dealing

and $73 million in 1987 is worth about $123 million today
Back then, in the show, they did. They made billions off the drug shyt. If Franklin was able to acquire 73M in cash, how much you think the CIA made? So no, they didnt care about the 73M.

Dude, they were selling drugs because the Reagan Administration had to find a way to give arms to the Contras in Nicauragua to fight the communists and Congress told them that they couldn't use taxpayer money, so that's why they engaged in the whole thing.

The CIA has had an unlimited amount of money for a very, very long time, but the Iran-Contra Affair was supposed to allow them to arm the Contras in Nicauragua, get the hostages from Iran, and Congress would never find out, but it got exposed. It wasn't because they're broke.

That's why they wanted nothing to do with the money, Franklin, and Teddy.

People went to jail behind this.

The actor that plays Skully always plays a gangster. He was that blood from The Wood that beats Mike's ass and he's a drug dealing, sociopath blood from Ingelwood in Snowfall. Is he affiliated? I just read he did a 10 year bid for manslaughter.

The CIA budget was definitely over a billion in the 80s. The Cold War was still alive.

Also, they were selling drugs for guns to get around using taxpayer money to fund the central American wars.

Finally watched after y'all spoiled the shyt out of it in other threads.
The ending was aiiiight.
I think this show would have turned out much differently if John lived.
The cac showrunner/exec. producer's fingerprints are all over the way the story developed.

I'm not going to debate about it, but I find it interesting that folks think the CIA, and the people who work within, would not care about 73 million dollars. Especially in the possession of a black drug dealer who they could easily control/kill/manipulate/disappear etc. Whether on the books officially or off the books unofficially, that's the very definition of food.

There was no way Franklin was getting away with that money and living happily ever after.

Edit: If I was in the CIA and heard the agency didn't "care" about the 73 million. Or even Franklin's half of 36 million. That's life changing money.

I would hire three mercenaries, promise them 1 million a piece. Find Franklin, kidnap him, torture him until he came up off the money, then kill him. I'd work for another 6 months before retiring to a tropical island and never be heard from again.

If I'm a civilian thinking like that, what do you think the demons inside the CIA are thinking?
