I'm not an expert on LA, but the impression that I got from the first season was that his neighborhood WAS what would have been considered a "nice" neighborhood. Franklin is the one that caused it to go downhill.
LOL

Flashbacks of:
  • All of the single moms this created
  • The mysterious, dark abandoned houses with lots of traffic
  • multi-colored vials on sidewalks
  • being offered Audi's for $500
  • The break-ins.....missing VCR's and TV's
:sadcam:
me too fam
The smell inside them houses. Cigs, must, piss, mildew and crack all in one. That was the smell of money and power as a teenager.
This last episode brought back some haunting memories for me. I had a few chicks I cared for get hooked and it’s hurtful to this day. I sold to loved ones and didn’t give a shyt back then. Now as a man I’m so ashamed. Crack was a monster.

No Whammies!!

I mean, in the first season they drew a big contrast between the neighborhood Franklin lived in and the poor neighborhood that his mother was selling houses in. She made enough money to send him to an expensive private school. They weren't living in a "bad" neighborhood at all. Look at it now, in the credits.

The first scene of the series was a happy ass neighborhood with Franklin I think riding his bike.

The neighborhood Franklin grew up in looks nicer than most in la but at the time and now it’s still home to crip gangs. I think the show made things look slightly better than they really were when it first started just to get the point across on how drastic crack corrupted the area. The crazy thing is families do have decent living situations in la with nice houses but the crime and gangs are still there

This wa's a great episode... the scene where we follow Franklin as he walks through the crackhouse felt like a scene out of a Kubrick movie.

People are saying Manboy is proving his loyalty. Idk breh :patrice: I think he is lining Saint and Leon up. You can't trust a nikka who willingly set up his own man to be taken out by a rival. Did yall peep how he lied to Leon and said the other cat had put them hands on Wanda? Plus he already have all these connections to other hoods in LA. I got a feeling that he is working with them to learn the ins and outs of how they move and will try to take them out the game. Saint watching Avi and Reed but he need to be watching that nikka too.
