Got it...figured that.
Everybody moving Coke fam. It’s really not that deep. Just like real life, they don’t get out the game, they can’t. Not any of them.Got it...figured that.
so what is the Israeli still doing then?
Starting season 4 nowEverybody moving Coke fam. It’s really not that deep. Just like real life, they don’t get out the game, they can’t. Not any of them.
Everyone wants to be The Wire. Everyone wants to compare them. But only those who truly watched it, realize how deep that shyt really went. All these new coke shows are surface level at best. Snowfall is about 3 steps deeper than Power. But Wire is a couple hundred feet lower. The way each season showed you a different way that the drug game really destroys every aspect of a city, and then how each episode broke down. You really saw amazing character arcs and continued traits.Starting season 4 now
It's good but not Wire status lol
I started watching it because I heard a lot of Buzz and comparisons to the wire which I disagree with LOL

There won't be another show like that for a long time. Let alone about drugs. Everyone else glamourized it. Barksdale/Marlo/Joe was RICH. Moving cities full of drugs with all sorts of properties and investments. But it was the grittiest shyt you seen. No time for that cool shyt.

That's the problem... Jon was definitely trying to make this real as possible..I honestly don't think Snowfall is even trying to be like "The Wire". It's not supposed to be real at all. It's more comparable to The Shield and Breaking Bad, not something meant to show you what it was like in the real world during that time period.

Love this website
After I read this I went down a rabbit holeCan you bless us with the info on how crack was in the early days breh
It was 2 UC Berkeley students who simplified the processInvented by the American government. Shyt goes so deep.
Now that I think about it Oso
who's character is this guy....Oscar Blandon
Meh. There's layers to his Mama. She spent an entire season not talkin' to Franklin. We had enough of that shyt. She spent a good portion of Franklins life being a slave to society...being a law abiding citizen and it didn't get her shyt. And part of that upbringing being in poverty w/ his father not being around is what made Franklin who he is. She knows they gotta use unconventional means of getting over in this world. She got with a panther all of those years ago after all. She reached her breaking point and getting back with Franklins daddy may have awoken some of that rebel spirit in her. That said I'm sure there will be some uncertainty and pushback when she truly realizes what Franklin is doing to his neighbors (especially Mel & Andre)...not to mention if it starts fukkin with her family.
damn i was spittin some shyt in this thread. This is the 80s. There wasn't sophisticated rehab facilities (for crack at least) like we got today. America's solution was to have the police lock up addicts and act like the problem doesn't exist...They ignored the spread of this shyt all the way until the Contra Scandal came to the light, it started affecting the white community, and politicians saw an opportunity to use the war on drugs for advancement in their profession. People hardly even knew how bad crack was until it had already spun completely out of hand. I feel like Leon trying to convince you Franklins about Mel...She gone nikka. She ain't comin' back this series. I was born around the start of this era...I saw a lot of the effects of this shyt comin up. John Singleton completely LIVED thru it...If you think this show got a happy ending for any nikka...you might as well stop watching now and save yourself some heartbreak.
