your stars are but dust on my shoes
The show has a lot of promise. GoT, Silicon Valley, and Veep is a beastly Sunday lineup.

Apparently the guy playing Peter Gregory (the venture capitalist who wanted to to collab and drove that narrow-ass car) died last September.

He filmed 8 episodes before he passed away from lung cancer.

first episode was great but also a grim reminder how much i fukked up not learning programming when I was a kid. :snoop:

Nah breh... you nikkas underestimate how much work goes into being an elite programmer. You see the level of NERD these cats have to be? Not one cool person in the bunch and definitely no brothers in the mix. :mjpls:

I'm cool with who I came to be in life. I'll just pay one of these broke college nerds to program for me. :win:

this show is hilarious, i'm in.

the thing is, silicon valley isn't as hip as ppl or tv shows make them out to be. if you're not used to being around geeks and don't get their sense of humor then it can be very awkward socializing with them. i've met a good amount of ppl who work in silicon valley while i was a contractor for HP and the personalities were no where near this show or any other image you see.

Do you brehs think this will last or will HBO throw it in the bushes like Hello Ladies and How To Make It?

"With GoT as a lead-in, Silicon Valley debuted at 10 PM with an average of 2 million viewers. Dripping with satire and techie in-jokes — not to mention cameos by Kid Rock and Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt – the Mike Judge half-hour dark comedy was up 42% from the 1.4 million that the Veep series premiere drew on April 22, 2012. (With a big-name star in Julia Louis-Dreyfus, that comedy also debuted at 10 PM after GoT, though the latter wasn’t a season premiere.)That makes the new show the best debut HBO has had for a half-hour since the 2.8 million who watched the Hung premiere in 2009.Silicon Valley also did much much better than the other most recent HBO debut of Looking. That show, which was renewed for a second season in February, got 338,000 viewers for its premiere at 10:30 PM on January 10. Last night’s debut also is more than double the 872,000 viewers that now-cultural-touchstone Girls had for its April 15, 2012, premiere. With two more plays over the night, Silicon Valley had a gross audience of 2.5 million on Sunday"

So far so good, but they had the #1 show on premium cable as the lead in. They should get a second season as that's still a solid rating and the show doesn't cost a ton to produce. Like Girls, this show can generate some buzz and have a cult following that's worth keeping around.

BTW, anyone been around programmers that hate/despise Facebook and other similar companies, but have no applicable idea of their own? It's definitely a interesting group of folks.

I thought the first episode was solid, it wasn't hilarious but has potential. Will continue watching to see how it develops.

I thought the 2nd episode was funnier than the first, this dude really has no idea about starting a company. Luckily for him Gabe from The Office quit to help him out. Now Hooli is trying to beat him to market.

Big Head lucked out though.

my girl thinks its gonna be bushes status.

IMO none of the comedies theyve had since they cancelled how to make it were remotely even close to as good as it

these nerds remind me of dudes i worked with at a tech company once :heh:
