I actually think Smackdown is better than it's been in some months. Definitely better than it was at the start of the Superstar Shakeup, but nowhere near as good as the beginning of the brand split.

My biggest problem is this awful Shane/Bryan storyline. The biggest thing that endeared me to Smackdown Live in the first place was there was no infighting between authority figures. That they're resorting to this just shows how creatively bereft Road Dogg and Vince are.

Powell’s POV: Smackdown did essentially the same number as last week for a show headlined by the Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn match to determine AJ Styles’ challenger at WWE Fastlane. The February 7, 2017 edition of Smackdown delivered 2.627 million viewers.

Powell’s POV: The Winter Olympics didn’t seem to affect the Raw or Smackdown viewership numbers in any significant way. The February 14, 2017 edition of Smackdown delivered 2.626 million viewers.

Tuesday’s WWE Smackdown Live averaged 2.613 million viewers for USA Network, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The number was up from the 2.449 million count from last Tuesday’s edition.

Powell’s POV: Smackdown his holding up well while airing opposite the Winter Olympics. I’m not sure why given the quality of the show these days. More on that in a blog later today. The February 21, 2017 edition of Smackdown delivered 2.792 million viewers.

Tuesday’s WWE Smackdown Live averaged 2.692 million viewers for USA Network, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The number was up from the 2.613 million count from last Tuesday’s edition.

Powell’s POV: WWE advertised John Cena ahead of time. However, we can only wonder what type of number the show would have delivered if they had advertised Cena vs. AJ Styles main event before the show. The February 28, 2017 edition of Smackdown delivered 2.817 million viewers.
