When it's under $20 I'll cop
Why's it only 40 though? It looks incredible, but is this a lack of content get out of jail free card?
Or are we just being blessed?
Firstly, James Stevenson confirmed that Ratchet & Clank will run at 1080p/30FPS. Want to know the reason behind this decision? Read the explanation from James below:
"We're 1080p/30fps… our goal was to match or exceed the fidelity of CG animated movies. When we first started we realized that was actually possible with PS4. Pretty exciting."
Ratchet & Clank for PlayStation 4 carries a price tag of $40 and this lead many fans to believe that gameplay length will be shorter considering the fact that it does not carry price tag of $60. James has assured loyal fans of the series that Ratchet & Clank for PlayStation 4 is longer than previous Ratchet and Clank game Into The Nexus.
On Neogaf, James clarified: "it's a full game, and much longer than ITN".
For those who are unaware of Ratchet and Clank Into The Nexus offered gameplay length of around 10 to 12 hours.
On topic of new changes made to Ratchet & Clank for PlayStation 4, James said:
"While it follows the same bones of story (ie Ratchet meets Clank, they have to stop Drek) and visits many familiar locations, almost everything in R&C PS4 has been touched, updated, or is new.
All of the art is new and from scratch, the weapons arsenal is completely different, the controls are modern, the RPG systems are in there now, the AI and enemy set-ups are now built to accomodate for those facts, most areas have completely re-done or brand new gameplay sequences, Clank’s gameplay is brand new, flight gameplay is new, James Arnold Taylor plays Ratchet in this game, all of the cinematics and cutscenes are new.
Two very different experiences."
I guess for sales?? They probably think these games won't sell for $60.Graphics look amazing in this. I wonder why it's 40. Just cause it's a remake?

Nah, I seriously think it's just due to it being a remake/reboot, rather than a full scale official new game.
Sony priced Sly 4 similarly($40).
$40 retail. I got it for $32 at Best Buy with GCU when I preordered today though.
