Season 3: Episode 3
So we start the show off with Olivia replaying what had happened in the last 24 hours. Her being the only one able to reach Huck proved how deep their bond is. Of course he is upset but he did not shut her out completely as he did everyone else.
Quinn continues to do too much and her reasoning of 'because I can' has gotten old real quick. I understand that she did not choose the course of being a Gladiator like the rest, so she doesn't feel one hundred percent loyalty to certain things or people but her blasé attitude may end up eventually getting her into trouble that won't be so easy for her to get out of.
Poor Mary...
We all knew that Olivia would not be able to tell her that she was indeed right, but I was not expecting her to kill herself after finding out their version of the truth. I hope that the situation is brought up in a future episode with Olivia talking about the guilt she felt et cetera.
While Cyrus still has some pull, the fire isn't burning quite as hot. In the scene with him trying to get Mellie and Fitz on the same page to garner 'good' publicity, I enjoyed their exchange but baby Teddy truly stole the scene. So cute.
Oh Mellie...
Put down the bottle! While her drunken verbiage was entertaining, it's like how delusional is she? My goodness. She could only dangle Fitz's relationship with Olivia over his head when he actually gave a damn about what the outcome may be for his presidency. With him leaking her name, and being ready to tell the truth, it's clear that he now has a different mindset.
Huck...
I was not surprised that Huck ended up killing the other guy and not Olivia's father. Seeing him breakdown was sad, but it ties in with Rowan remaining a strong presence in one's life. What I didn't care for was that although Rowan lives a double life, shouldn't he have had some type of plainclothes security or something-Huck being able to reach him so easily on the street seemed a bit off.
Um...can't Olivia put Jake up in a hotel or somewhere other than her place?. As she mentioned, her father always has an agenda. I understand that she feels a certain amount of gratitude towards Jake for 'saving' her life, although Rowan said that he had sent the agent to kill Jake not her, but still I wouldn't be so trusting.
This was a pretty good episode. I'm looking forward to what's to come.
