The trans discourse is getting more and more convoluted as the days go by.
OK so a trans woman mentioned part of the hate they get is rooted in misogyny.
I had to really think about that one because majority of the people vocal about their disdain for trans rights are men, so is it men calling out other men or men calling out trans women they subconsciously consider women?
I think it's both but as to why misogyny could ever play a role is because of the comments I'm seeing about Brittney Griner. Born a woman, plays basketball as a woman, and has only publicly claimed herself a gay woman...but anti-trans people are calling her a man because she looks and sounds like one???
Like can people make up their mind and be consistent in their hate? This is how I know misogyny plays a part because trans men aren't held to the same standard as trans women, in fact it's lower. Trans men usually pass far better than trans women do. Also, since they're considered men, they have to deal with misandry. People ignoring men's mental health, their well being in general, because their is a stigma about emotional men and being in their business. And that is why the anti-trans movement doesn't have as much smoke for the trans men like they do women.
