I just made homemade toothpaste! All it is is baking soda, sea salt and coconut oil. I have to add some peppermint EO and some sweetener. The recipe said xylitol or stevia but all I have is honey and raw sugar.
I know people use raw sugar cane as a chew stick so I might add a tiny bit of sugar next batch. It wasn't bad without it tho.

Xylitol is really good. I believe it has some antibacterial properties.
If your recipe came out good, I wouldn't put sugar in it.

Thanks! I was hoping for your input. I was just googling "raw sugar teeth". I found out there's such a thing as raw sugar cane juice.
lolI don't think I will add sugar tho. I'm good with the basics, I just like to experiment. I'll wait and maybe get the xylitol.

Yup, baking soda and/or sea salt is all you really need. Coconut oil has added benefits and turns the powder into paste.
