Season 4: Episode Two
Jake trying to set boundaries with Olivia is laughable. This is someone who pursued a woman who he knowingly knew was in love with another man. A guy who left his job which held the highest position of power -to 'stand in the sun' with said woman, only to follow her path and stay around when she has sought the shade.
Their relationship is ridiculous, but I must say that those boots were hot that she wore in their last scene together.
Speaking of absurd relationships, we have Quinn and Huck. Throughout last season, I went back and forth with the possibility of their relationship being more. Ever since they went there, its just become really strange. Not sure where this is going, which can in turn be interesting but eh, Huck was my favorite character and now...meh.
I don't mind Abby playing in a power position, but she must realize that Olivia isn't new to this, she's true to it. Her constantly being stuck in her feelings because 'Liv' is back, needs to take a backseat while she focuses on the job at hand. I think we all knew that she would be the one who would get Mellie to get herself together, if only for a photo-op. That's what she needs to be concerning herself with, things that may seem insignificant but can end up being vital. Going toe-to-toe with Olivia will always end up being a losing situation.
David has seen the light. As he said, Olivia is a winner (professionally) and doesn't care how the game is played, as long as she is the victor. Now, I don't totally agree with that statement, because I do think that Olivia does things in an effort to bring about the best results for everyone, but she does have her selfish ways as well. I liked how they intertwined a past episode of Harrison doing Olivia's dirty work, when she tried to keep Abby and David apart.
*sigh* Mellie...
The big story this week is Cyrus and his delusional ass. I mean, okay, he got his hair fluffed and whatnot but did he really think that ol' boy was interested in him based on his looks? If nothing else with everything that has went on, you would think that Cyrus would be more attentive of possible schemes. He's been involved in numerous ones. Them going with the whole 'he's lonely' angle is understandable but at the same time, for someone who is supposed to be so wise, they are really doing his character a disservice at the moment.
Overall, I enjoyed this episode. It's slowing picking back up.
