Season 3: Episode 14
I have watched every episode of this show, some more than once and I can honestly say that this episode, for me, is Top 3.
So as has been tagged from last week- #Whogotshot? It was pretty apparent that James was to be the one who would die, due to being exposed as Publius.
I wasn't expecting Jake to confess to Olivia that it was he who did it. Or for David to eventually tell Abby that he had to cover up what happened in order to be alive. Although Abby and David bore me, I do like that their relationship has depth.
The scene with Rowan and Olivia was spellbinding. No doubt that every time Joe Morton is on the screen he is going to give an award-winning performance.
Her asking him to just be her 'Dad' and him giving her comfort, but at the same time not letting her live in a cloud of delusion is what was needed for Olivia's character. Due to the Fitz/Jake situation, her image has been muddled, but Rowan telling her that the path she walks is in order to save everyone regardless of past, helped salvage her reputation as being a true wearer of the 'white hat.'
I'm interested in seeing what other underhanded tactics Sally will use in order to secure future Presidency.
Mama Pope just taking out people was crazy. Adnan thought she was running the show, but its clear to see who the real HBIC is. Adnan not getting Harrison to do some dirty work, could mean that their relationship is a lot deeper than meets the eye.
So Mellie and Andrew are having an affair? Meh. The struggle of their intimate scenes are hilarious.
Huckleberry Quinn lives on. The spitting scene was gross, but I will say that it fitted the situation. It was about time that Quinn let Huck know how she felt about him picking and choosing when she can or cannot be deemed a Gladiator.
The best moments of this episode for me was being able to see the flashback scenes of how James and Cyrus got together.
I wasn't ready for the closing scenes...
When Cyrus decided to claim James, which in turn made him out himself, no lie, I burst into tears. That was truly such a beautiful moment.
Cyrus breaking down at the podium, my gawd...
James asking about Ella as he was dying...
Like fukk no...my body was not ready.
Just amazing show from top to bottom. I was not expecting to become a crying mess with this show, but tonight had me going there.
Next week should be low on tears but high on drama. Cant wait.
