Too late I went out with a couple guys this past weekend and they were great. I feel what you're implying about the sketch factor though, but the people I've talked to have been pretty decent.

Honestly, just testing the waters. I'm not really meeting anyone here in Boston, and I've had a bunch of people suggest I try it out, so I was like why not. Can't knock it 'til I try it. I also figure that since I'm not sketchy, there has to be other normal people on there, too.

YES!! No matter where you meet them, bring mace or at least have some sort of weapon. You don't?

My uncle, God rest his soul, was a frail dude and he used to carry around a kick stand on a rope...just in case. He had some other strange weapons but that one sticks out. He told me as a female (or if you're a frail person) you should always have a weapon.

Man you've got me thinking and I must be horrible. I've never went on a date without making sure I had some type of weapon on me. It's right up there with making sure you have gum/mints and lip gloss/chap stick. Now I feel bad.

Not at all. I think I am naive in the fact that I assume that most people are regular like me, despite all that's out there about weirdos and what not. I haven't ever been in a dangerous situation so I guess it's something that just doesn't come to my mind.

I made an OkCupid profile out of curiosity. I prefer it because there's not as many creeps on there like POF but you'll find a few weirdos. It's cool because it matches you up with people you're compatible with. I did find not a lot of black guys don't use it. All I had coming on my profile was nerdy white guys or 40 year old men

Test it out. I haven't been on a date with a guy off of it but if you do, I'd love a recap.

You're right about the black guy thing, but I just patiently sift through until I find someone cute lol. One of the guys was actually just in town for a wedding (he lives in Seattle). He was 30something, Kenyan, and an engineer. I could have sat there all night and talked to him, he was so interesting. We just went to this bar downtown and had dinner. The first guy I went out with was also in his 30s, only thing that kind of made me feel some type of way was that he had a kid. BUT, I kind of forgot about that and if he asks me out again, I'm def going to see him He's from St. Thomas, works in a restaurant, talked about real estate something or other. We had dinner as well and had a great conversation as well. They must have thought I was cute/interesting too because we kissed goodnight and want to keep in touch.
