Do you have random battles in these games? fukking HATED that shyt when you traversed the maps.

Nah, it's not like the old games in that regard. Pretty much every enemy can be seen on the playing field before you fight them. Occasionally some will surprisingly show up, but it's not the random encounter of old rpgs, thankfully.

Rebirth should be one big ass game. Nibelheim flashback, Red XIII story with Bugenhaggen, Junon, Casa Del Sol, Barrett and Dynes story, Golden Saucer, Cids story, temple of the ancients, etc etc.

They'll probably try to recreate the shock of that moment by having Tifa or someone else die when everyone expects Aerith.

Nah, they're just setting us up to believe we can save Aerith right before the gut-punch.

They gotta keep the OG players on their toes so we don't know what to expect, but they did say that the main story beats of the original will still be followed.

And besides that, if Aerith doesn't die, then Meteor can't be stopped.
