I was expecting a nikka that grows up to be Kanan to have came up super hard and beat a young age
But they made this nikka spoiled in a nice house and potentially Stuyvesant bound dude nerdy as hell and he just decides to catch a body because he want to be in the streets
It don’t have to be these bougie god damn legacy drug families we already have two shows of that
This shyt don’t mirror 50’s life at all
yeah I was telling my wife that. Kanan should’ve been a menace by this age. They should’ve done like City of God where you see how Lil Ze was a bad kid and turned into a demon by high school.

Check the episode out and It didn't grab me as quick as power and power book 2 did.
Kanan and his crew feels like the kids from the Steve Harvey show trying to be street guys. I'm waiting on lydia and bullethead to come out.
I got confused as I originally thought raq was trying to keep kanan from the streets but apparently he felt empowered enough to defend corners that he would rush to kill someone before checking in with his mom and uncles. Being from the streets myself if we under guys we don't break protocol like that we get the go ahead 1st before we go shooting up a corner. You bringing a ton of heat to the set. I wish they could have sold the urgency to kill a bit better.
The storyline of jukebox with the white girl is just forced and unnecessary as most lgbtq led storylines these days.
How we teaching kanan how to shoot AFTER he done killed someone?
I'm not done with the show but it's on a short leash. We done did the gangsta momma teaching her kid how to be a gangsta thing already Courtney smh we did it with Tasha and tariq then monet and cane now raq and kanan. Is it any momma in the power universe that don't want they son in the streets? Smh lol
