Fukkin with this Nat Cole hit sample.
How come that i don't find it a bad mix?
Do i have bad ears? Or do i need monitors still?

I do know it shouldn't be my headphones cause they known for being very accurate

Several things:

1st the track itself is good.
However the mix is loud and the snare has too much reverb it drowns everything out.

The reason why you probably can't hear it is depending upon your listening environment/mix It can also be based on ear training. Somethings you can only hear after exposure to good mixes and that further develops your ears over time. I can say that once the mixing is fixed the instrumental would be even better than it is.

I don't mix on headphones when I can avoid it, however there are decent headphones that you can mix on as well.

Thanks my man,

I'm first gonna try to do something else with the Reverb. But i kinda went for that 80s feel cause of the song i sampled.

Think it's a lot better now personally?

Everything sounds really squished and compressed, It feels like this sacrifices a quality mix for loudness. its clipping, first I would turn down the sample, that will allow you to hear the drums over the top of the mix without having to rely on the heavy amount of volume. Then eq the sample to let the frequencies through that you want.

Again the instrumental is good but the mix and presentation of it holds it back. Once the mix is fixed, you really will have something good.
