Hey everybody,
Chicago artist Nick Kingz here. I would appreciate if everybody takes a listen to my debut mixtape "Let Me Speak." It is available for download and stream on SoundCloud:

I would love feedback. Thank you!

@Ace of the Metropolitan tried that lo-fi shyt out i always see you talk about...need u to lace me with some tips on how to get that old school tape effect without my shyt sounding completely muffled

@Sagat
@TEKBEATZ

  • Compression
  • Low filter to the sample and some of the effects
  • I use a plugin in maschine to make some portions of my beat have a lo_fi effect.
  • Lo-Fi effect without messing with the bit-rate
For this beat, I would double the sample, put a filter and raise the sound up a bit so it will have a bass like sound. Plus compression near the sample and drum so the drums can attack the sample, adding a punching effect:wow:. If you have a Lo_Fi plugin, just add the scratchy effect but don't add the 8bit effect too much to the track because it will not blend will, unless you going for a SP1200 90s sound with it.
