Maybe they got something lined up or getting another WR in the draft
I think this guarantees we are addressing the WR position early in the draft. I wonder who they have their eye on

I think Dionte would have had a tremendous season under Russ. He is one of the best route runners in the league and gets open easily

Now we need another playmaker opposite of Pickens. I like Austin but I assume he is not that guy

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
Yea I dont know about that Diontae Trade :patrice:

The last time DJ had a real QB (basically a broken down Big Ben), he was averaging 100 receptions for 1,000 yards. I do not know how we are going to replace that production. He also was clearly our best route runner, and I think he woulda ate with Russ.

Kahn has been on fire, but I think this is a mistake.

Here were my thoughts/ need rankings heading into today before any deals or trades
Need, in order:

  1. Center- Our biggest need because we just have no quality depth at this position. This is the General of the Oline and we cannot go into 24' without addressing it. After today I'm guessing we address it in the draft in the 1st Round
  2. Inside Linebacker- We needed a true #1 here. We have depth but they are all injured and just serviceable bodies. What a pickup Queen is. We no longer need to address any LB position
  3. Corner- With us losing Pat that left only Wallace and Sullivan. With the trade for Jackson I can see us retaining Sullivan to be our Nickel. We may look at this position in the draft in the later rounds
  4. Offensive Tackle- B Jones needs to be shifted back home on the left side as he continues to develop. Moore is avg and we need an improvement on the right side because the only other option is UFA Cook. I see us bringing in a serviceable starter for the right side in FA and then addressing Tackle in the 3rd/4th round
  5. Wide Receiver- Before the Johnson trade, we just needed some mid round draft depth here. With the trade, that changes things. As great as I believe Pickens will become, hes still unproven and emotional. We need a vet to come in here besides him. I think we grab one of the remaining top 3 FA WRs here while also addressing the position in the 2nd round

I want to touch a lil more on the Johnson trade and why we did it. It was no secret he was a bit disgruntled. With us also having a young emotional Pickens, we need not have that kinda influence around him as he develops. The big thing out FO saw with this was his expiring contact. If he stayed this season with Wilson at QB and went of for a 80+ catch season, in no way would we be able to afford his next contact. So why not get something of need for him. Honestly, im still not 100% in on this because unless we get a top 5 FA available WR. We are fukking ourselves. Word is we will get some restructures over the next 36hrs so we can go big on an FA WR and get a serviceable OT to close out our glaring FA needs

Ayo :ohhh:

We all know Kenny was pissed when he was healthy but Mason still got the start

I guess he knew in a competition with Russ he would probably lose and be the backup. But why be the backup in Philly under a younger / better qb?

Russ got 1 maybe 2 years in Pitt. Jalen got a decade probably.
