Ishii/Shingo had a better match last year but this one was still fukking great. Little long winded by the end but they beat the fukk out of each other :wow: But y'all know what it is with Ishii

:wow:
This match didn't start off as explosive as their last match (or most Ishii matches for that matter) but the build to the climax was great. Shingo is quietly one of the best performers in NJPW now.

Puro refs drive me nuts with their counts. There's always a hang at 3, where the refs pause to wait for the guy to kick out, but then the guy is waiting for the ref to get closer to the final count so there's an annoying pause that kills the momentum every fukking time. This isn't just a NJ thing, it also happens frequently in AJPW and joshi as well. They need to start treating it like a shoot like WWE refs and if a guy fukks up a kick out, that's on him, not the ref.

Yeah, I've been noticing it lot lately, probably because of the amount of matches I now watch daily. The matches never have a proper near-fall (kick-out at 2.99!) because of it even though they are so obviously going for it.

Despite a few botches Naito and SANADA had a great match. SANADA however really needs to stop doing that spot where he lets go of the Skull End on a near unconscious opponent to do a Moonsault that he misses 9/10 times. It just makes him look stupid.

No idea what was up with asking to turn the lights off during the end promo, hopefully someone can translate what he said.
Sanada wanted some Teddy Pendergrass to play after his victory :banderas:

Yeah that one dude Marty whatever is the worst for this. His hand hovers high on that third count. So obvious. I try to avoid looking at the ref during those near falls.

Marty Asami. Definitely the worst at this because of what you say.

SANADA needs a better move set. The Cold Skull and Moonsault isn't enough. Cold Skull is boring as hell. Works for some decent reversal spots but it really ain't compelling, especially when it's just treated as a way to soften the opponent for a run of the mill moonsault.

He needs a power move for a finisher. Something he can hit quick and out of nowhere.

Also, Ospreay overshooting the landing on the repeat of the Hurricarana spot actually ended up making for a better spot.

Taichi is really, really, really good. What the Hell is 2020?
I wouldn't say "really good" but he has definitely come into his own this year. Feels like things finally clicked for him. Now he just needs to add some other offense than 90% kicks.
