Is that “don’t mess with cats” documentary a fake joke movie made to seem real with real people?

I’m suspicious :patrice:

Anybody watched Ares?
Yup, because it's the first Dutch Netflix production I had to watch that shyt.
It's pretty cool, I like the locations, for Dutch standards the acting is quite good (might not be noticeable since you don't speak Dutch, for me, most dutch fiction lacks natural conversations, which kills the immersion, in Ares, not as much).
Storywise it's a dope mystery, I liked it and the ending/reveal fits some of the hot topics in Dutch society right now but I won't spoil that for you.

Free Willy!

This kid got a nice ass room with AMAZING views, and was ungrateful as hell. He broke that large spacious window!

:hhh:

Almost makes me want to move to Oregon. The films shot there look so beautiful.

:blessed:

In the reveal
it turns out that the 'monster' is an amassing of guilt. The members give their guilt to the pool to be able to do whatever it takes to get power and money. It's implied that this is why a small country as the Netherlands has amassed great riches in the past (colonialism, slavery, the usual European fukkery). Nowadays, mostly in Amsterdam but in other parts of the country too, there are initiatives to change the names of streets and landmarks that are named after 'heroes' of what we call the 'golden century'. Like calling them out on being named after colonial leaders, slave merchants and the like. This ofcourse, is mostly driven by white people feeling guilty or wanting to adhere to political correctness. Opposition to this is similar to the people wanting to honor confederate generals over in the states I guess (don't erase history etc).
For me personally, and I might have to add I'm white, I'd like to see it that discussion as an opportunity, teach the people about how we came to our wealth and power. And really, the naming of streets and the like is part of that history, so explain why we did that and why we stopped doing that. Because removing the names will only make it invisible, if you want to confront the dark past, put a light on it.
Turned out to be a bit of a rant:russ:
