How familiar are you with the Universal Century timeline of Gundam? Hathaway takes placed 12 years after Char's Counter Attack.

Aight so Gundam Wing and IBO are in their own separate universe and have nothing to do with Hathaway. Universal Century (aka UC) is the main Gundam storyline. Prior to Gundam Hathaway's release, Netflix added Gundam 1-3, and Char's Counter Attack. Those are what you need to watch to understand a good chunk of UC Gundam.
Now if you can't stand the old animation but don't wanna be clueless for Gundam Hathaway, it's strongly recommended you watch Char's Counter Attack.

He copped a deal with Netflix to adapt 14 of his books. I'm assuming his best sellers. But breh is prolific though just knocking out novels every one or two years
