Chris Smoove is bigger than 2K, 2K begs to do promotion with him every year, he has turned it down sometimes too.. and comparing to other 2K youtubers, he is the only one who criticizes them and doesn't kiss their ass.
I was just wondering with this whole spike lee story line if that's how it would go.

He'll probably put out some videos a couple weeks before the game comes out.

I think his official title is gameplay producer. He's worked with 2K on completely redesigning how the computer runs offense and is behind the flex, pick and roll, and triangle offenses in the game. They're supposed to seriously expand on it this year.
