For sports games in particular, I really don't see much of a point in buying a physical copy these days. Their resale value is horrible, you rarely get decent trade in credit outside of the first couple of weeks. I understand if it's a game you're iffy about, but if it's something you KNOW you gonna playing all year round, might as well go digital.

I like it just for the ability to trade it in if I don't like it. Around March I sold my PS4 copy of 2K14 back for $36. That's reason enough for me to buy a physical copy. I've gotten past the days of playing a game year round if I'm not totally in love with it.

I can't rock with digital shyt. Not only does it clog up hardware, I've been burned too many times( Hitman, Injustice) If something is trash, I always have the instant option of trading it in for some credit towards another game

The game is gonna take up that space regardless of how you buy it, so that shouldn't matter. The trade-in option is legit, but for the most part, you already know what you're getting when buying a sports game. If you know you're not gonna put too much time into it, I'm not sure why you would buy it in the first place, but that's just me.

One could argue that it being a sports game gives you every reason to buy digital. If you're buying a sports game, I'm assuming you're gonna play it for damn near a full year, and by that time, trade-in value is low as shyt, unless these places run specials, like Best Buy did with Madden this year.

I mean, I had 2K14 physical, traded it in recently (at BB...Amazon was only offering $3) for $15. I mean, 15 dollars is 15 dollars, but in the grand scheme of things, it's most likely not make or break you in regards to getting any other games. Plus, the convenience of not having to switch discs is worth it for me.

I'm lazy as shyt so just the part about no disc swapping is worth more than the peanuts Gamestop would offer for a 2k14 trade. My pre load for 2k15 is already done installing, it's watching me like :shaq:

Can't front I'm loving the convenience of this preloading shyt :win:

Anyone picking it up at midnight?

why would anyone buy a sports game digitally?

I just traded in 2k14 for $13 this weekend.

Exactly why im buying it at midnight. Reality is many games ain't worth buying digitally. Im not buying the hype. I'll buy games that aren't annual digitally such as GTA but it's silly to do it on a sports game.
