Looks like current generation gameplay with next generation graphics. Wasn't expecting a drastic change (we didn't see a significant increase in gameplay until 2K7 on the 360/PS3. 2K6 on the 360/PS3 was simply a port with pretty graphics) but I'm not buying that "built from the ground up" bullshyt. Details are great outside of a few things (no warmups on players, socks still missing NBA logo, absent photographers and a few other things) but overall it looks amazing. I will be purchasing this.

you actin like thats a bad thing

current gen gameplay is already about as good as there is in any sports game.....better graphics/animations takes it to a whole new level IMO

here is a better video of the gameplay trailer:

:wow: I'm blown away. At some points when Bron is dribbling, it looks indistinguishable from a real life broadcast.....can't wait till they get every animation to look indistinguishable from real life.

All in all this is a great foundation for 2K to deliver a basketball gaming experience in 4-5 years that should be almost indistinguishable from a real life broadcast. I'm pleased.

Yes, and the gameplay we had on the PS2 was a great thing ten years ago, but it sure did improve when the series moved to the new platforms, didn't it? Each generation has and should be different than the last. I understand some of you guys are in love with the corporation at this point and they can seemingly do no wrong, but the point is to evolve. I'm not going to excuse the gameplay remaining stagnant just because it's passable now. As I said, 2K7 made a significant jump in gameplay, and that should be the standard. I'm not withholding my purchase because of it and they most certainly will need time to make any significant changes, but they have new hardware and they should aim to take full advantage of it - graphically and gameplay wise.

one step at a time breh

would I like to see radical gameplay changes so that 2K14 was indistinguishable from a real life broadcast.....yes

however, I'm realistic and IMO 2K has gone above and beyond what I expected for a next gen launch title........just look at the garbage EA put out with next gen Madden.....be happy that the folks at 2K actually did more than just ported over the current gen game......this is a great foundation for a great game going forward

I'm more than pleased to get current gen gameplay with next gen graphics and new features for a fukkin launch title.

Breh, maybe in your fervor to respond you rushed through and didn't take in what you were reading, but you've basically said the same exact thing I've said in my previous two posts. I agree wholeheartedly. I am impressed. I definitely wasn't expecting a huge change for the launch title in gameplay, but I am expecting a substantial change in how the game plays a year or two from now, and that is all that was said. It's essentially the same game gameplay wise with jazzed up graphics, and for the time being, that's fine. The little details and other issues such as foot planting being somewhat addressed more than warrants a purchase. At this point we're talking in circles.
