It's time
The storm imagery and HB writing "dark mode" makes me think this won't be KD4. I mean with all that definitely think will be a darker sound, something more in line with Magic...Magic 2? Another surprise drop?
I’m not sure we’re going to get a “darker” sound as Nas is an artist that always goes off mood and his life/career has been pretty jovial the last four years. Grammy wins, critical acclaim, endorsements, he’s basically the face of Hennessey and the Hip Hop face of Sprite right now. The MSG concert was a smashing success. The Hip Hop Is 50 events gave all been successful. The Wu tour has been a smashing success.
I’d be expecting something more grandiose than dark. KD3 was pretty fukking epic sounding, I could see Nas and Hit building off of that and maybe going for more bangers and summer anthem stuff. Now of course to get those types of joints to really ring off he’ll have to do some heavy promo/interviews. Maybe he’s ready to get back out there and start doing that? 30, Thun, Legit, and Get Light should have been RULING the charts last year.
I think “Dark Mode” is Hit telling us they’re locking in to finish the new album. Whether it be KD4 or titled something else. Maybe Nas is pushing for another August release just before or after the Yankee Stadium concert?
Whatever happens i’m here for it. LETS GO ESCO!
Just a little tidbit. This is all me just throwing shyt at the wall, but the lady that works for Nas did a Twitter Spaces last week and she didn’t expressly mention any new music but her overall vibe, tone, and energy kind of came off really positive and excited. She talked about numbers and streams like always, but there was FAR less blaming the fans and more talking about external factors like streams for singles not counting toward album sales and how now Billboard is allowing bundles to count and things of that nature. She’s a BIG Metro Boomin fan and just going by her attitude and how she gave extra praise to Nas Morales and Spiderman Soundtrack made me think PERHAPS that the Nas/Metro album is either a reality or close to being one. I can, for the first time see a possibility that Nas has Hit Boy share the production duties with Metro on the next album.
Again, NOTHING confirmed just a little food for thought
