Yo, something I just notice about this classic joint

Based on the beat structure, Nas jumped in 2 bars early. I always liked the way the beat switch sounded during his verse and the chorus but it never clicked to me that it’s because he starts early. He jumps in on the 7 instead of at the beginning of the next 8.

If you listen closely to the beat you can hear how it is designed around a traditional 8 bar loop. I mean it’s a dope beat regardless but the way he jumped in early takes it to a whole other level.

Maybe it’s just cause I’m high but this shyt is crazy to me right now

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
Can someone explain to me what this even means. Is she saying she was going to leak unreleased Nas shyt on discord but changed her mind because someone might share it? Sounds like bullshyt.

I really can't believe this bird works for Nas. She talks like when people with schizophrenia ramble on social media.

Thank you! People with brains who think for themselves up in here....also, a google drive did drop but it's just JEFE's vault from another discord from 3 years ago, which is just mixtapes and stuff people already have/heard with misnamed songs and differently named blends, and has nothing to do with LIG/0_0/life is good/Nasoutlet...they probably got sent the link and tried to make it a whole event by making people have to kiss ass for a download, but I drop links/material like it's no big deal because there's more than that where it came from -- she gets offered information but don't act like she doesn't just repost remixed material posted on my youtube from years ago....I swear if it's not kept in check, a lot of stanbase social media outlets be gatekeeping, power tripping, and be in their feelings subliminally trying to shade/shut down other people from offering more insight or different values/opinions/narratives than them for no reason other than to justify their own dominance over the fanbase -- be direct or don't try me....life ain't all about darwinism and survival of the fittest once we overcome this intellectual barrier to be empathetic towards other people and be collaborative as a society so the whole tribe can eat/progress forward and not just leave the spoiled riches quietly for a select few, like how jay and beyonce conduct business and portray themselves. Think like Nas - be humble and Nas is for the people. I had to whip up the Aaliyah discord stanbase into shape and they were down bad with all this toxic thot culture that prevents real music/thoughts/feelings from being articulated by genuine people and researchers

I actually joined the discord for the unreleased songs to drop. Pledged $50 so far. I hope more people get on board so this shyt drops. :banderas:
I agree. Get the real deep vaults open. If the hoarders have it, let's be resourceful. Reach out! Some of you have already checked it out on Discord. Go ahead. Dig! Investigate it yourself. See what you think. I'm one who has always wanted the rare, rare Nas. I've always inquired about what's still in the vaults. There is music out there. Let's get it. I'm not taking anything from the amazing music that the God is putting out in this incredible roll that he is on. I want that too, but I'd love to have the other stuff too. Let's go!

props, I haven't looked into recent Nas stuff but he's probably still busy touring and haven't thought much about the next album outside of lost tapes 3 and those mass appeal hip hop 50 EPs

Bruh some of the songs he picked to go up against each other was insane haha. He left out great songs
QGTM vs What Goes Around as dope as QGTM is What Goes Around is different
Cops shot the kid doesn't belong on the list
World is Yours vs Take it in Blood :dead:
Get Down vs Memory Lane I'm biased but Memory Lane 2nd verse is hip hop perfection
I like Got yourself a gun but Rewind is iconic

I thought this was debunked as original Nas music and considered a blend. I even remember Nas saying he never rapped on this track. However, I know that it could still be possible, seeing how they can just place recorded vocals over any beat that they'd like.

not sure what your referencing but @jensyao is correct

the original was the one he posted and it was produced by reef

the remix was produced by dj khalil

You sure about that. Who even produced this?

I remember DJ Khalil early on showing his version during the Untitled album recording days.

And there’s a version released with “Amarie eating Free” and another with “Amarie eating Rocsi” both on the DJ Khalil beat.

And they put it on The ****** Tape and it’s not listed as a remix even though some other songs on the album are.

I don’t think I have ever seen the DJ Khalil version listed as a remix anywhere

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Here’s a clip of Khalil saying Nas’ people (Def Jam) sent him an acapella to create the track. They loved the results but it didn’t make the album.

That beat is better than virtually everything that ended up on the album.

Hey also used some of the hook on this track right here.
