I think its gross to PAY for what is essentially stolen music. If something happens to leak onto the internet then fine, have at it, but paying for music the artist created that they won’t be compensated for AND didn’t want released in the first place is lame

Coop is REALLY moving up man its beautiful to see. I ran into his partner Mike the other day and gave him mad props for the work they’ve put in and success

you guys don't have to agree to do anything but this is presented as just an alternative because nas isn't opening the sony vaults and if one of these songs can make impact or save a life because of the messaging or nas gets recognized for his past efforts, i'm all for it. sure, the tactic in which it is sold sucks but other fanbases with hella leaks don't seem to mind and they are attune to what's going on. the mixtape game is 100% bootlegs that people sold that was made free recently with the internet. the music game is dead because the industry consolidated and put a chokehold on what agenda they are pushing. even nas moved on and made his fortune outside of music with endorsements and VC so music is more like a passion project where he breaks even on releases if it wasn't for the email notifications on the merch. I'm just presenting information here, that is all

That’s dope! I feel like they really benefited from covering Magic when most of the mainstream outlets ignored it. Seemed like their channel really picked up steam around that time.

Would love to see Coop interview Jansport J. Everything he’s worked on with Nas has been phenomenal imo.

I've been optimistic for years that Nas' legacy (in the mainstream) will eventually grow and he'll eventually get mentioned as one of the greatest songwriters in any genre

so I'm also optimistic that Sony (with Nas) will eventually release the vaults in the form of a Lost Tapes or two, because it's free money

Bob Dylan has something similar to Lost Tapes called the Bootleg Series, and they're up to volume 17...and his record label is Sony/Colombia

yeah I didn't mean that it would happen any time soon, just eventually one day they'll come out... hopefully

but I'm with you, it doesn't feel right to buy them from someone who has stolen property

the ultimate seller has def jam vaults, is overcharging, and is keeping his distance, plus these aren't great buys because lost tapes 3 can include those

Are these finished mixed and mastered songs or just throwaways that werent ever properly mixed down or mastered?

8 classic Nas songs from that era, if mixed and mastered well, could be a decent EP/ mini LP for us heads.
