Watched the whole show yesterday. Mike& Coop spoke nothing but facts. When we point it out, we just "salty Nas stans". This bullshyt been going on 25+ years between Nas & the "hip hop media". No other goat music is critiqued as harshly its actually ridiculous. It's always well he's had a good career, but the music never matched Illmatic. Think about how fukking ridiculous that is who the fukk has?:what:. Snoop never came close to Doggystyle Jay never came close to RD ect... his peers never got those levels of expectations. Hold his peers to the same standard they don't though you wonder why?:patrice:

thanks for these guys to clearly expose this type of shyt, there are the rare few to do it and put things in their proper perspective

The double standard been obvious since the 90s, anyone who don't see it just don't wanna see it. The hip hop media always held him to a different standard than every one of his contemporaries

They wanted to box him in and be the face of one specific lane of hip hop and resent that he always done his own thing. Fact is if he did what they wanted he'd be Raekwon not Nas. And that's no disrespect to Rae it's just Nas would not have the standing and the catalog and success he does if he did what the machine wanted him to

He wouldn’t even be Rae status. Rae at least has Wu-Tang to fall back on. Nas would be Jeru The Damaja status if he stayed in the “dusty Boom Bap” lane.

The best thing he could’ve done was make It Was Written. It might be one of the top 5 greatest decisions in Hip Hop history along with Cube joining forces with Bomb Squad, Jay sampling Annie, etc.

Just realized Preme put July 17th in his post. Think this is for KD3 or a soundtrack or compilation type of thing?
