Was it a video or just a picture with a text ? What was he saying precisely ?

August 20th is a Friday, that could be the right date to drop the sequel almost one year to the day after King's Disease's release.

It was a video of Jungle and another dude and Jungle was saying “Kings Disease Part 2 coming REAL SOON!”

Then he shouted out Nas and Street Dreams records.

That was it. Nothing crazy but that Kings Disease Part 2 shoutout sounded super official. So thats probably why they took it down

We're probably getting a new Nas album before the summer ends then.:blessed:

I'm not sure if he should title it King's Disease 2 tho. Cause it fitted a theme and the album ended with "The Cure" which was appropriate (Spicy is a bonus joint).

I HIGHLY doubt it would actually be called Kings Disease Part 2. Nas has always had creative album titles. If him and Hit Boy are running it back i’d think that they’d hit on a new theme or concept to explore because Nas by his own admission gets easily bored and is constantly seeking new musical challenges.

I took Jungle’s video as more of a confirmation that Nas and Hit Boy are running it back than the actual title itself.

I’m wondering whatever became of that “secret” project he was working on

I was just about to say this about the title. Nas never really runs things back like that. I'm imagine the title will center on a theme or vibe of the album. Similar to how KD dwells on a lot of themes and ideas around the title/gout/excess.

In terms of the secret project...I really think it was Dre, Nas lost interest in the sessions and went back to Hit Boy. I remember saying this awhile ago but going from a creative, free process with Hit Boy to having 30 people in the room and Dre obsessing over the smallest detail...that's not the vibe Nas seems to be on. And of course we can't forget that fukkboy d-list Dre producer who said some wild shyt about Nas a few months ago. Nah...

I personally hope it was Alchemist but you never know.

Jungle on Drink Champs would would be a nuclear bomb. The fallout and "nah man I was drunk" statements would be legendary. We'd get responses from rappers, athletes, governments, you name it.
:russ:

as much as I would love to see it, i think you have a better chance seeing Jay on there than Jungle, Nas knows having his brother drunk on DC would be explosive

Yea I always suspected it was Dre too.

The thing is I doubt it was Dre’s perfectionist tendencies that drove Nas away. Nas has a personal relationship with Dre dating back decades and he knows his work habits. Dre even offered to produce all of Hip Hop Is Dead for Nas. And even for Nas to announce something “secret” means he was probably deeper into the process than we know.

I’m thinking either the issue ( presuming this is more than just a fan dream) is Dre’s recent health issues or the drama surrounding Dre’s divorce (or both) could have affected things. Coupled that with the fact that Nas and Hit Boy have literally NOT stopped working since Kings Disease dropped, Nas may have just naturally fell into album mode with Hit.

Hit seems good natured, drama free, and is on a creative wave himself right now so I completely understand striking while the iron is hot.

I never heard any rumblings of Nas working Alchemist this year. Alc got like 60 different projects he’s working on lol.

@TheDarceKnight said Nas and Alch did something within the last year or two, and not the track on Lost Tapes 2. Plus Alch is working heavily with Hip Hop, who A&R’d the Nas Album Done album we never got. Few years ago he noted that the first place he took Nas to in LA was Alch’s house,

Hey if they ARE working together you won’t hear any complaints from me:hubie:. I’m not the biggest Alchemist fan but i’m definitely not a hater and he’s always given Nas heat. I thought “It Never Ends” from Lost Tapes 2 was super under appreciated from an underrated album.

And contrary to popular belief I liked Alfredo from last year. I just think Freddie Gibbs is a super limited rapper when it comes to his subject matter.

25th Anniversary It Was Written on by Get downIt Was Written 25 Year Anniversary (Colored 2xLP+7"+Cassette Bundle)

I wish we could get a legit one from Nas and Sony. It’s time since new cats are going back to Nas’ older works.

We are…

Nas will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his 1996 album It Was Written with a new reissue that includes the original LP alongside a pair of rare bonus tracks.

The follow-up to his landmark debut Illmatic, It Was Written boasted his hits “The Message,” “Street Dreams” and “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)” featuring Lauryn Hill. The album also had appearances by Mobb Deep, Dr. Dre, Foxy Brown and the debut of the Firm, the hip-hop supergroup of Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ and Cormega.

Out July 2nd — the actual 25th birthday of the album, released July 2nd, 1996 — the digital expanded reissue also includes the cassette-only bonus track “Silent Murder” (out digitally for the first time) as well as a version of “Street Dreams” that includes a bonus verse.

To mark the anniversary, Sony Music has re-uploaded It Was Written’s “If I Ruled The World (Imagine That)” and “Street Dreams” music videos in high resolution quality, as well as shared a short documentary about the 1996 LP:

I already got silent murder on my cd, to me it's part of the album. the street dreams alternative verse in cd quality is great. I wish they would put deja vu and the message (scarface version) on there too

They wouldn’t do Dejavu because thats got Nas’s Verbal Intercourse verse on it and thats considered a very special verse as it marked Nas as the first non Wu member to be on a Wu album
