That's my auto response to all things Swizz normally but...he's had some good beats recently, and those IG snippets he posted a couple years ago were fire. Damn...what a bizarro world if Swizz gives us a dope Nas album whereas Kanye gave us a meh one.
:dwillhuh:

That wwouldn't be surprising. Swizz is a better producer than Kanye

Did anyone get their physical copy of the Nasir album yet? I saw the Japanese version was out online to sale. It could’ve benefitted from a couple of bonus tracks.

Not for radio bonjour Adam and Eve and everything still ring off from Nasir. The album is very solid. Everything is an incredibleeee record, that needs a powerful video ASAP

Whatever this Swizz album is, whether its the one they did in 2016 or now, it will almost certainly be better than Nasir cause I believe Nas will rhyme better on it cause its his album and they'd have actually been in the studio.

I also think the beats wont be that bad BUT because its Swizz and because its Nas I think you will get people saying the beats suck even if they actually dont (And had those same beats been given to Jay or Wayne they'd get praised)

I've just come to accept people will believe this nonsense take even though his last 2 albums have shown the beats have been fine and actually hasnt had a badly produced album in a decade

Why, I'm genuinely curious. It's his worst selling album and one of the first Nas albums in awhile that kind of just came and went due to there being very little buildup or promo or anything. And music wise, the Kanye connection only reminds us of how forgettable the majority of those June releases were. Only Pusha's album was legitimately good IMO, although I understand a lot of people liked the Cudi one. On the music level again...what songs on there will become staples of his catalog or live show? Adam & Eve is a great song but it's not really a "live" song. I notice he keeps doing Not For Radio live and the crowd is dead...I just don't understand the forced attempt to make that song something it's not (ie Hate Me Now). It's a low BPM song...it's not going to work live.

I feel crazy for saying it but I think the Swizz album will be a lot better and perhaps make people admit Nas sounded off on Nasir at times. At least Swizz is going to give us hard drums, a staple of Nas' best work.
