I still fukks with the entire album. I’m telling you right now this album will age really well as time goes on
Why, I'm genuinely curious. It's his worst selling album and one of the first Nas albums in awhile that kind of just came and went due to there being very little buildup or promo or anything. And music wise, the Kanye connection only reminds us of how forgettable the majority of those June releases were. Only Pusha's album was legitimately good IMO, although I understand a lot of people liked the Cudi one. On the music level again...what songs on there will become staples of his catalog or live show? Adam & Eve is a great song but it's not really a "live" song. I notice he keeps doing Not For Radio live and the crowd is dead...I just don't understand the forced attempt to make that song something it's not (ie Hate Me Now). It's a low BPM song...it's not going to work live.
I feel crazy for saying it but I think the Swizz album will be a lot better and perhaps make people admit Nas sounded off on Nasir at times. At least Swizz is going to give us hard drums, a staple of Nas' best work.
