I dont think this was a shot at Nas (I mean the dude had no problem freestyling on his joint for album of the year or rocking his tee on the KoD tour) but as a guy who went through that in his family it probaby hurt his idol.

Yeah and SNL is kinda random with who they select for their few spots that they have each year and it is limited
Sometimes its a super hipster act up and coming who will be hot, or someone mainstream or a legend in other genres.
I wonder if he was asked in the past and he turned it down cause its live tv whereas the other talk shows are recorded or he just felt it was too mainstream or maybe they just didnt see him as a priority over another act on the board

This likely why Kendrick's people told journalists not to ask him any political questions during interviews. It's not really thing to do because it could lead the artist down a rabbit hole that they don't want to travel.
