Do you think law enforcement would be satisfied with a retirement? If he was doing something against the law and they could prove it they would have arrested him. The idea that the FBI would stop an investigation because he retired is laughable.

And furthermore....

He ended up missing 147 games of regular season basketball. That would have been an odd number of games for a suspension. In terms of the calendar, it was 17 months from October 1993 to March 95. Again, a strange number to set for a suspension.

Another thing about bullshyt suspension rumors, if dude got suspended for gambling why would baseball allow him into the sport with all the gambling scandals they've dealt with?

Apparently the MLB accepted a major athlete that was suspended for gambling, five years after they permanently banned Pete Rose for betting on the sport
