Feige is pushing him out there and letting him flounder. 5 scripts with another on the way? something is wrong, and it's time to intervene. They should have delayed this film instantly after Chad's unfortunate death, and given Coogler and Cole ample time to plan how to move forward with the story. Either that or recast T'Challa and kept the script as is which would have been way easier for all involved. It's obvious now the story is insanely different from Coogler and Cole's original vision.

It's crazy BP is one of their biggest films and was a cultural achievement, but yet and still they refuse to give it care and time that the franchise needs to recover from the loss of it's frontline star.

@Primetime
Dont know if you've kept up with Loki, but I'm wondering if BP2 is forced deal with the multiverse "a little". I mean the rest of the movies are multiverse heavy before BP2. And where are yall on if the only way we get T'Challa back is like a post credit "Multiverse T'Challa" :patrice:

Tbh I can see Coogler using the multiverse to bring back a redeemed Killmonger if he wanted to set him up as the new Black Panther but other than that I don’t see a reason for it to be heavily use in the movie.

Yea I dont think it'll be the main thing or anything. Just wondered about a post credit scene.

It’s the most obvious solution IMO and allows them to sidestep the issue of recasting . Although like others are saying I’m not sure if it will completely resolve it in BP2

There’s no excuse to not bring a Tchalla back now after what we just saw in Loki and what we’re going to see in Dr Strange and Spider-Man.

Tchalla is Black Panther. And we haven’t seen enough of him. Kilmonger, Shuri, nor M’kabu can replace that or hold the franchise alone in my opinion.

We all know the real reason why they won’t recast T’Challa. :mjpls:

Disney low key doesn’t want any strong Black male leads.

It took them years to even get Black Panther on to the big screen cuz they didn’t think a Black superhero would make enough sales.

3. Wakanda TV series coming
4. Black lead villain (Kang)
5. Blade
6. Black co star in Eternals

1. America’s mascot who was largely overshadowed in his own show and doesn’t even have his own movie yet.
2. Co lead, enough said
3. TV series revolving around the Dora Milaje (which is still good admittedly but it doesn’t actually revolve around Black Panther at all)
4. Villain
5. Anti hero vampire hunter
6. Gay co lead

NONE of those roles have the same impact as a Black king of the most powerful and richest nation on the planet. How often do we even get movies portraying us in that type of manner? like I said Disney is looking mighty :mjpls: right now for not recasting, especially since we are getting different versions of Spider-Man and Loki via the multiverse.

While I agree with a recast being the best solution and way forward. Isnt it normal for a script to have multiple revisions during production?
Yeah it is and there have been great films with script rewrites and bad films with script rewrites so it’s not a good indicator of a bad film
The problem in this case is that there was a completed script before the unfortunate passing and coogler had to rewrite it

You'd be down for multiverse T'Challa? :leon:

A lot of OGs want the main one to not shelved at all. However, yea I'd be ok with multiverse T'Challa if thats the only one we could get :manny:
