With UVA and MSU both making it to this point I guess the title of perennial underachievers might have to switch hands

UVA and State don’t belong in the same conversation in that regard. MSU was just in the Final 4 in 2015. Izzo’s issue is that he’s gotten taken out the last few years as a higher seed with some high quality talent on the team. It was disappointing as a fan and I thought the game may have been passing him by, but I wouldn’t call them perennial underachievers cause of a 3 year stretch when they got 7 Final 4s under izzo before this one. They not in the same boat. In fact it was State that upset them I believe when they got their first 1 seed...and when they got the 2 seed.
