For this to be the most skilled era ever, how come this doesn't translate to college basketball?

Some of this play is just awful.
Skill isn't the only thing that makes a player great. Poise and experience are extremely valuable. Also, it's easier to exploit weak links in college just due to not everyone being great. You still have specialist in college basketball vs the pro game.

Legendary :salute:

Fun fact someone pointed out on Twitter: Every 2007 Final Four team still has 1 roster member currently on an NBA roster 17 years later :wow:
Florida - Al Horford
Ohio State - Mike Conley
UCLA - Russell Westbrook
Georgetown - Jeff Green

Watching college basketball is always a reminder to me that these dudes are amateurs. There are always moments that make me remember that is isn't the NBA, and how much of a higher level the NBA actually is.

These kids bounce around from high school to high school, AAU program to AAU program and never win at any stop.

They get to college with zero idea of how to play actual basketball and get exposed. Calipari won’t stop recruiting them but he should. This team is a prime example.

I didn’t know he has a $33 million buy out :picard: good luck

True...

Calipari has to figure it out. Gohlke for Oakland is 24yrs old....experienced.

Calipari with constant Freshmen and Sophmores every year no longer works.

Long Beach State's athletic director said the timing of his decision to fire coach Dan Monson was done with the hope it might trigger the exact run that led the team on its unexpected trip to the NCAA tournament.

"My belief and hope is that by doing what I did and the timing of it, they would play inspired, and that's what they did," Bobby Smitheran told The Associated Press on Thursday, a few hours before the Beach lost 85-65 to Arizona in the first round. "I'm not trying to pat myself on the back, but it worked."
