at this point I'd be surprised if Pete doesn't kill himself. They made it pretty obvious when they were discussing the life insurance at the beginning.

They are making it so obvious that Pete is "supposed" to commit suicide, I have a feeling it isn't gonna happen...He might snap and murder his wife though...

Loved the shots of their wedding rings while Pete and ol girl were on the phone together.
For some reason, the silhouette falling off the building looked like Pete to me...
And lmao at the Jewish dude complaining about the money she owed.

I was laughing too. Then I thought about it and 15$ then is about 100$ today.

SMH at Mr. Belding though

The chick Pete is sprung for is bad as fukkkkkkk, god damn. Pete is wild tho, I wish him luck, I feel bad for dude at this point now.

Don and his girl are gonna be on a downward spiral now.

good episode.

Nah, fukk Pete. He's got a great job, makes good money, great wife, young kid. He doesn't appreciate any of it, walks around with the :noah: talking about how life isn't fair. He keeps doing stupid shyt looking for happiness and just ends up more :noah:

We can be reaching but nah everything in Mad Men has double/triple meaning. Notice how Megan went down the Elevator.. if i remember correctly, he hit the button to go down also but he saw that impending doom shyt. Like a warning.

Eh, it's like Don's lost. He's not gonna be able to follow Megan, he can't. He has no idea what's going on in the world. They were talking about music and Don had the :what: He got halfway through Tomorrow Never Knows before :scusthov:

Roger has like 20-30 years on him, but he's walking around :win: after taking the LSD. shyt's clear to him.

Don's been happy but he hasn't been keeping up. Cooper called him out on it. Peggy said she trained Megan more than Don did. Now the thing that made him happy is something he may not be able to follow and he's going to get lost. He hit the button expecting for something to be there and it wasn't there for him. Maybe he gets back to being :smugdraper: but that's not good for him. Like ciroq said, is that the first time we've seen drink in the office?

And Beth reminded me of Betty. Childlike, chillin at home with the kids with an idea that her husband is screwing around. Pete wants to be Don so bad.

But I think Roger's rolling with it. His mind is open, he's taking LSD while Don hates the Beatles.

I agree, that's why he's rolling with Pete's bullshyt now instead of getting pissed over petty shyt like he was before

Pete Campbell is one of the best characters on television. I can barely stand him, but he's so fascinating to watch. Here's a man who possess a hyper sense of entitlement which breeds an almost obsession with things he doesn't/can't/isn't supposed to have. This has made him driven to accomplish goals, he's successful, but how do you forge genuine connections when you're so innately self serving? Perhaps worse than people being hesitant to trust you, your own selfish way of seeing the world prevents you from fully trusting other people; after all, if you're fully aware of all the ways you're capable and/or willing to screw someone over why wouldn't you be worried about them doing the same to you? Nevermind obsessing over anything almost always leads to disappointment.

One of the most important scenes this past episode was Roger giving Pete head's up about his reputation as one of the best Account men in the game rapidly spreading through Corporate America and Pete glosses right over it and continues to lament. He's done everything he set out to do early in the series yet truly believes he has nothing. Now I have no idea where they are going with all of this but I do hope Pete continues to sink deeper and deeper down the pit of despair and destructive behavior. Pete Campbell am become death before the seasons over for sure... either by DUI homicide, suicide, or murder suicide. In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see Campbell take an intentional plunge down a certain elevator shaft
