To be honest, Don tried to handle the Lane situation the best he could. Lane using his signature would have gotten Don in a lot of trouble. He treated Lane with a lot more respect than Roger or Pete treated him. I think if Lane would've told the other partners his situation, he wouldn't have had to embezzle money. Don was right though, he can't trust him. Who's to say it Lane would not have done it again? Don was trying to save him the embarrassment by not telling the other partners & simply telling him to resign, but I guess for Lane getting caught by Don, someone who he respected the most out of the partners was embarrassing enough.

I thought it was a telling moment when Don wanted to get his body down b/c he didn't want him to stay like that. Damn, Lane. You didn't have to do it, breh. :to:

Sucks that Don feels guilty. Tried to do right by Lane & the company, & that shyt happens?

Don had to let Lane go cause he knew the embezzlement scheme would come out. When Don asked Lane "what if a client found out about this?" I knew he couldn't come back. Couldn't help but to:laugh: when he tried to kill himself by carbon monoxide but couldn't start the jag. After Roger & Don were talking about how shytty of a car Jaguar and wanted to do Chevy instead.

:umad: @ Betty calling Megan to tell her that Sally came home to her. She had that "yeah bytch" smirk going :pachaha:

Didn't miss Peggy not being on the episode at all. Felt like she trolled through this season.

Can't wait for next Sunday

I wonder if Don was having flashbacks to when his brother hung himself because of how he treated him. Between that and lane's resignation letter, you know don's probably gonna feel like he's responsible for this, even though the writing was on the wall for lane the moment he embezzled money and forged his signature instead of just asking the partners for a loan

Wow I totally forgot about that, good call...This is basically the second suicide that has been caused by his caulousness and indifference...This has got to start weighing heavy on him...

I kept saying to myself don't do it Lane while he kept trying to start the car. I thought he was good when it didn't happen, but this is Mad Men not your avg TV show.

sigh..

R.I.P Lane

Prediction for the finale: Joan's gonna find out Don forced Lane to resign and use it to leverage more power/ownership with the firm.
This doesn't make any sense. What leverage does she have to do that? All he has to say is that he embezzled money and he offered him an out w/o exposing him to everyone. She'd ultimately just be making Lane look bad.

Great dark humor in that Jag not starting. I wonder how Jaguar feels about being constantly shat on by this show? Even though the models they're referring to are old... they still have a quality problem compared to other luxury marques.

Just think if Pete found out about Lane's embezzlement. Knowing Pete, he would have put Lane on blast.

Yep, and the only reason she got a partnership (besides sleeping with dude) was because Lane figured it as a way to cover his ass.

Not only that, the episode before they were presenting one of their top executives as a sexual predator that used prostitution as a negotiation tactic..

Jaguar most feel like all exposure is good exposure..

Goodell or Stern would never cosign this.
