I don’t wish harm on the young Niko Bellic

I just didn’t like how cacs were hyping him to be MJ, Kobe, Bron & Pistol Pete all rolled to one
**gets on loud speaker**

“Asking for clean up in aisle four!!!”

:laff:

:umad:

Never allow cacs to color how you see potential, even if they take it too far.

I don't get the body complaints. How does he look any different from Harden in that regard?

Harden is 10 years older for one not to mention Harden is VERY athletic for a guy with his body type. Also, Doncic is sooooooo slow. I mean this dude is slow as fukk. He is such a highly skilled player which is why is so good and he knows how to get separation on his shot but his body and athleticism will keep him from being elite as I have said from day one. He is too skilled with his size to be a bust and he could be elite if he transforms his body. Thats a big IF. Its why I always bring up Hezonja. Never understood the hype on him. He is way more athletic than Luka but still not a good individual defender. Luka is going to really struggle on defense. Again though...his lack of athleticism is a testament to how skilled he is. His ball skills are elite.

Truth is Doncic does look like he'll be a special player.
Trae may end up being better but that wont take away from Doncic's potential and maybe eventual greatness. :manny:

Cat like you need to learn and appreciate the "wait and see" approach to things. You dont need to "call" everything . The sky wont fall if you dont "mark my words" on a topic

Personally when i heard the Hawks pulled the trade i felt it was whatever because you never know what you're getting out of European players nor do you know what you're getting out of these undersized volume shooter type players out of college. So i took a "wait and see" approach. RIght now seems like the Hawks made the right choice but who knows how we'll feel about it 3 years from now. In the meantime just enjoy the ride

I prefer athletic players too but many great players are athletic and many athletic players arent as skilled

Larry Bird was never known for athleticism. Carmelo Anthony's athleticism has always been somewhat limited.

Larry could move for a 6'10- borderline 6'11" cat

what I am saying is, Luka is a way below average athlete for the league and for this reason, if he stays that way he will not live up to the tremendous hype. As good as his ball skills are, he is not Bird, or Dirk for that matter. He is a pure wing that has to work to get his shot, so when teams through a stopper on him, it wont be easy for him because he uses dribbles to get separation. If he goes into the postseason and faces a team that has an All NBA defender, especially one that doesnt have to focus on offense, ala prime Tony Allen, he'd be in big trouble. Luka is not a stretch 4 as some people have claimed he can play as. As a pure wing, he will have to transform his body and up his speed/quickness or when he does get to the post-season he will be nothing more than Turkoglu with better passing. Still a heck of a player but not an All NBA caliber.

Not based on vids I seen. And mind you he was still playing when i started watching the NBA. Tho he was older and in decline by then. BUt even when i watch vids from his prime that fukk looks slow as fukk.

He was sneaky, tho. He'll fake a defender out their shoes chasing him around the courd

Right now i see him as a Toni Kukoc type. Good ball skills and court savy but lacks speed and strength.

But he's 19.

Again, let's wait and see. Many people scoffed at Dallas for the Nowitzki too back in '98. I was one of them even tho we all knew this was the same Dirk that roasted One of the all-time best wing defenders in the NBA, Scottie Pippen in international competition when he was just...18, was it?

All i'm saying is the first couple of years will be an adjustment for Doncic. The NCAA already plays and NBA style with just more focus on team. Euroleague's main comparison to NBA is the speed of the game. You gotta allow an adjustment period despite what you think will or wont fly in the NBA

Doncic is gonna be a middle class version of Brandon Roy or a rich man's Turkoglu. Neither are insults.

Dude will be good and have long career....could sneak into an Allstar or two but he'll never be All Pro level and thats fine

In Dallas, From Cleveland
Luka is nice, I was skeptical but I went to the Mavs game this weekend and homie got a special presence out there ....

Seems like he should be starting PG though... Has a better feel as a playmaker than DSJ. He's a fun player to watch.
