Just got back from it. It was the best Wolverine solo movie but even then it was just a decent flick to me. It is overstuffed with unnecessary shyt so it takes a while for the ball to get rolling, the emotional pay-off I thought was abysmal (although two chicks next to me had to grab tissues, so make of that what you will) and the villains were weak as fukk. It tries to do some character shyt about the cost of killing and living a violent life but it's paper thin and mostly falls back on showing the famous ending scene to ol' timey western Shane. There's another drag of a scene in the middle that also tries to sell this whole "violence begets violence" thing, except the entire movie still relies on every conflict being resolved throughout indiscriminate killing from the opening second to the last.
When it's all said and done everything about this flick just feels so basic, not an accumulation of 17 years of Wolverine's cinematic history. Oh, except for them bringing back that stupid shyt from the Wolverine Origins movie about Adamantium bullets somehow having special abilities because using Adamantium bullets against Adamantium somehow does something that Adamantium in its entire history has never done, including the numerous times that Adamantium claws or blades have clashed. fukking piss poor deus ex machina bullshyt. So yeah, this shyt was like a 3/5 to me and I honestly feel I'm being generous because it's not total garbage. Of course I go to IMDb to put in my score and this shyt got a laughable 9.5/10. After seeing that and reading that nonsense about GotG Vol. 2 having a whopping perfect 100 score at test screenings I think it's safe to say that this entire hype-train generation can go fukk itself with an aids dikk.
Kudos to you
