Man its kind of the end of an era with this being Jackman's last appearance as Wolverine. Dude has been Wolverine for 16 going on 17 years. It will be really hard to cast someone else in this role. Even if they get someone good they'll always compare him to Jackman like everyone does for Bond with Connery.

Most people love him. I've only heard people not like him on here.

They're still bytching about his height, and the fact that he doesn't look like this

This is the shyt that never made sense to me when people complain about Hugh Jackman. Wolverine is 5'3 in the comics. How many grown men do you know that short?:francis: How many 5'3 actors that can actually act and that are in shape and have the look of Wolverine are available? :francis:

Plus him wearing the mask would serve no logical purpose in a film. He doesn't have a secret identify so there is no reason for him to wear the mask like it would for Spider-Man, The Flash, and Batman.:stopitslime:

Not sure what some of you are talking about on here.

  • The casting on X-Men Universe has been borderline great. (Prof X, Jean, Wolverine (despite the height), Magneto young and old, Wolverines Sabretooth, Deadpool, Beast (X-3), old Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Trask, Sebastian Shaw...and more, All absolutely great.
  • The tone of the movies has been spot-on compared to Marvel and DC. Anybody who has read X-Men knows that it is melodramatic and soap opera-ish.
The problem with the fox X-Men universe is they say f*** the source material and they say f*** a coherent timeline. This is the first movie where it looks like they said f*** The Source material and they still might actually get it right.

Following today's excellent first teaser for Logan, director James Mangold sat down with Empire Magazine to go through it frame by frame. Though he doesn't offer up any particularly startling revelations, he does confirm a couple of interesting details about the film.

First and foremost, Logan is indeed set after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past's epilogue - in other words, this future is the one Wolverine traveled back to the '60s to save in the events of Bryan Singer's movie. Why things didn't continue down the tranquil path Logan and the other X-Men found themselves on after the Sentinels were defeated remains to be seen.

Another thing fans were curious about was Logan's diminished healing factor. Turns out it still works, it's just that the wounds now leave scars behind. "We imagined he heals quickly, still, but it leaves a scar," Mangold explained. "The simple idea was that his body would start to get a little more ravaged with a kind of tattooing of past battles, lacerations that remain of previous conflicts.”

One thing the director won't confirm, however, is the identity of the character played by young newcomer Dafne Keane. Even though it's almost certainly X-23, Mangold isn't spilling just yet. “I think I will just let speculation run rampant about that," he tells the mag. "I think what this film is about in many ways is family. From there out I’d let everyone figure out what we’re up to on their own, at least at this early stage.”

As far as the R-rated violence glimpsed in the trailer goes, Mangold finally wanted to give fans the Wolverine movie they've been asking for since the character made his big screen debut. "We’re really trying to deliver what folks have always imagined those kind of battles would look like. There is a lot of high-octane action in the movie. We’re just trying to do it very differently and very viscerally.”

Wolverine is my favorite X-men and I was day one at his previous movies. Liked the first one but the second one was meh... I read the story of old man logan and when you compare it to this hmmmmm. I wasn't as excited as I thought I would be. There weren't any characters that gave me a :leon: feeling.

Still day one.

The OG Mystique was great too....fully agree with your critique of Fox's handling of the X-Men properties
