If Grace is right on her sources, they are open to the idea of a sequel or a possible Man of Steel 2 if this ends up being a hit with HBO MAX.. and they will see all the internal data to determine how popular it is.

But that's Grace's sources so I don't know, we'll see.. AT&T didn't close the door to an expanded universe but many of the movies will not be leading to a team up necessarily because they have seen success with one shots like 'Joker' as an example.

The whole Aquaman riding the parademon was always in it so the end point was the same.

Weird and unexpected move. This isn't a move to make any extra $. Props to Warner for doing something for the fans and creators.

This is a move that will make the corporation money. It will drive people to subscribe to HBO MAX.

Supposedly the ending battle was very different. I mean Snyder shot 4 hours of footage and only like a quarter of it was used.. Now he's getting $30M+ to finish the additional scenes and special effects/score etc

Will it? Some who were interested were planning to subscribe already, another group will sub just for this movie and then cancel and then some will just pirate it off the site once it drops. If they make any money it won't be a lot so I think this is more PR and good will than a money grab of any sort.

AT&T doesn't do things for "goodwill" .. they think it'll make them money and I think they are right. There's an appetite.
