It's crazy how Indy refused to make win now moves in the offseason, but used winning now as an excuse to start Flacco.

Everything always comes back to the same central problem (Ballard/Irsay): the team refuses to embrace a rebuild but is too incompetent to build a roster capable of winning. Not even winning the AFC South.

End result is not being able to deliver on developing your QB OR division titles, playoff wins.

I know we're all aware of this, but have to get my weekly #fireballard rant off

Their moves over the offseason, or lack thereof, told me that the Colts wanted to run back last year’s team and thought a healthy Richardson would elevate the rest of that offense.

Shockingly, it turns out the insanely raw QB they invested a fourth overall pick in still needs to be developed.

The higher-ups need to give up that dream of thinking this team is a plug-and-play playoff team ala the 49ers, because they ain’t.

Was Colts QB Anthony Richardson’s benching caused by both a lack of awareness and miscommunication?

It sounds like there was a breakdown on both sides regarding 2nd-year quarterback Anthony Richardson’s recent (and surprising) demotion.

The similarities between the Dems rolling out 82 year old Biden with a "drop out of the race ceiling" and Indy rolling out 40 year old Flacco with a "he sucks but at least completion is higher than 50%" ceiling.

This sounds about right.

I knew Indy was cooked when Anthony came out and told reporters he was tired, then Shane repeated the shyt.

No awareness to protect your naive quarterback from himself.

It's one thing to acknowledge he shouldn't have left the game. Another thing to not step in and prevent him from getting flayed by the media.

I don’t know why they’re so adamant on relying on these over-the-hill QBs as safety valves rather than ripping the band-aid off completely. They ain’t foolin’ the NFL landscape. A lot of folks already view the Colts as a clown show.

My loose theory is that Irsay knows his time is up and desperately wants to win now and has his finger on the scale.

Ballard is a mid GM, but smart enough to know he can keep his job as long as Indy "seems" competitive and he does whatever Irsay asks (like Saturday at HC & probably the AR benching)

Steichen has no real control and is just desperately fighting to not be another rookie HC that gets fired. Dude didn't even get to pick his own DC. I would've loved to hear his honest take on AR pre-draft.

Love to see it. It was looking like Gus would be the easy scapegoat for Ballard at the start of the season, but now that would look silly. Can't just fire a coordinator and call it a day like it's 2022. Every sign on Earth basically telling the team to hit the hard reset button and Irsay's holding onto this regime for dear life on some
