This is the most eyes Impact has had on their product in years, and this is the best they have to offer right now?

The show was already taped. They probably had no idea about the Omega/AEW stuff happening. It's not like they pulled out the good china or whatever its just a regular episode of Impact in December (when their show almost always slows down in the festive season anyway). It's highkey bad timing for them actually but it wouldn't be TNA/Impact if they had good timing anyway.

If they were budgeting on it being the best they have to offer they probably would have turned it into a mini PPV special type of episode and they've generally showed out on their big shows the last couple of years.
