Glenn was defending violent neo-Nazis pro-bono before he was lauded as a journalist. He's been right wing in many aspects longer than people think. I'd say Matt Taibbi moreso fits the description of a guy who has done good work before going astray. Rightwing griftbucks are likely a bigger factor than being memed into hating the "woke" crowd as well.
