i second that.

another thing i wanna add. i hate how you have black kids, black men outthere doing good for themselves, helping people out and etc and them getting shunned and ignored being labeled as sellouts and not getting props for doing well for themselves. then some dude that goes to prison for murder like chi ali gets all this dap and love where you have people saying "welcome home", ready to roll out the red carpet for him like he's a hero. you have all these guys celebrating drug dealers and homicidal maniacs before they show love to someone that graduates from harvard with a PhD in nuclear science. terrible.

when is this sh!t going to stop?

im sorry but you need to post some examples. i mean, yea theres naturally going to be some resentment there, as it is with every race but stuff like this is so overblown.

ive found that 9 times out of 10, if somebody is referred to as a sellout, they either exhibit c00nish ways or are basically nobodies in their neighborhood and dont interact with others much so people tend to assume that theyre uppity. the latter isnt always their fault but my point stands.

ive never seen anybody that looked out for his people & community get shunned or called a sellout.

lets be real, you cant celebrate somebody that you dont know. 90% of the time, the harvard grad is a guy that stayed in the house growing up. so of course we're gonna roll out the red carpet for the homies coming out the bing-bing before we roll out the red carpet for "the guy that lived on one of those blocks down there".

shoot, i remember being treated as if i ended poverty, just for going to community college. i got luv from everybody from old folks to the hustlers to the wild niccas all the way down to the bums begging for change.

this is stupid as hell.

people don't like their music because it's just not good. if you think promoting genocide of black people is what's hot in the streets, do you. but don't prop up these strawmen arguments so that you and other c00n nikkas can go dance in the street to a bunch of high school dropouts celebrating killing our own people the way they do.

any black person that bumps this is a fukking sellout. period.

i wouldnt go that far.

most(if not all) of these GBE dudes are like 16-18. its not c00ning. this is all they know. people wanting them to show the other side of the street game are wasting their time. theyre not just fresh off the streets, THEYRE STILL IN THE STREETS and still in that phase where they dont care about any consequences.

we forget that alot of rappers that came out at that age were just as reckless. bone thugs were just as reckless when they were their age. sure they had more sense, but other than that, the only reason we dont criticize them like that is because they were actually talented and their chit was an art, as opposed to GBE's music. bone thugs didnt begin to exhibit depth in their music until a few years later, and they continued to expand from there. we basically watched them grow up, even tho theyre older than most of this board but you get the point.

but yes, i agree that these GBE niccas is stupid.

If these was grown men then I wouldn't have too much of a problem with it because they should know better but these damn little kids just don't know any better :snoop:

You can't say that the environment, politics and their upbringing didn't have an impact on what they saw, what they do and how they feel BUT you also can't say that kids who come from similar environments have no chance of doing anything else with their lives because we've seen plenty of examples of coming from rough neighborhoods and doing well for themselves.

I didn't come from what most would view as a rough neighborhood.. it was pretty much middle class compared to where they're and down the street from much rougher areas. did I know people and have friends from really fukked up situations? yeah - some of them made it out and went to college and some didn't. Some of my college classmates, same thing..

You can't generalize this shyt. Everyone is different and everyone's identity is shaped by different things whether it's been foreclosed or whether they've had a chance to search for their own.
