Yes, I know ...however they could have stalled for a season until he was done filming, or paid Transporter production to push back filming. I'm sure they have deleted scenes of the two as well.
Oberyn showing up and sonning Tyrion was the best part. Dude was practically like "I'm here to kill your father, b. Do somethin bout it."
Why were they invited to the wedding in the first place? You would think OG Tywin would have handled this situation a long time ago. OG Tywin is known for not tolerating threats, idle or otherwise.

Exactly. Whole thing is a bad idea all around. I can't imagine he just "forgot" about what happened back then. And Tywin seems a realistic guy, which is why I don't see how in the seven hells he could expect Oberyn (or his family) to just put that shyt behind him and play nice for a wedding.

In addition to normal diplomatic courtesy, Tyrion sent Cersei's daughter's down there...they couldn't slight them by not inviting them to the Royal Wedding.

He has every right to. Tywin ordered the killing of his sister,nephew and niece.
Also don't forget the invitation wasn't for Oberyn in the first place. They originally invited his brother Doran, the Prince of Dorne, who's a more level head person. They didn't know they would have to deal with the red Viper coming for their heads.
