I am trying so hard not to read the books. Cuz I know once I start Ima be at book 5 in 3 weeks or something.

For those of y'all who read the books, does knowing what is coming kinda take away from the show?

Not at all...and there are slight differences. I get amped to see how they are going to portray things...like Harrenhal...which they did perfectly IMO. Plus, I read this book like 10 years ago so I have forgot half the stuff that happened anyway.

Is it worth my timing reading books 4 and 5? I stopped reading midway through book 3 because the following books seemed to be getting a lot of hate.
