In the books how old are Danny and Joffrey around this time? I read Dany was 13 when she married Drago? :rkelly:

i just started the 1st book. thats the only difference i've seen between the book and show, are the ages. all the kids are younger in the book. i think bran is like 7 and rickon is even a baby. cant really remember all the others

Hmmm, seems foolish to me....if they were concerned that it was his first time, I'd think they'd be more concerned that she'd talk him out of it or she'd escape his attempt or call for more wildlings. Just strikes me as an incredibly silly move on their part.

Word...no spoiler cuz the shyt already went down, but in the book that whole development made much more sense...

something i notice about this show that i havent seen anyone really mention is that they really give alot of insight to characters we never got to delve into in the books... its almost supplemental... while we get to see the motives and inner drive of characters like Danerys and Tyrion, we never really get to see what really motivates characters like Littlefinger or Robb Stark.

When reading the 1st 2 books i didnt even realize it but i was making the wildlings out to be like some subhuman evil beings, i guess to make them out to be the enemy. Now watching the show i realize they were just regular people the whole time and makes it hard for me to dislike them.

To be honest, in Season 1, the only wildlings I saw was the ones who tried to kill Brann...and they struck me as sub-humans. Now I see they're just people who were north of the wall when they decide to build it.

None were kings. Project Pat just declared himself king....knowing the rest of the thirteen wouldn't agree, he killed them.

Project Pat and Baldie stole the dragons on their own.

And he's not a con man, he's ambitious :smugfavre:

what was the point of stealing it only to tell where to reclaim it? :wtf:

Because the Warlock probably thought the only way to get her and the dragons in the House of the Undying would be to steal them and lure Dany there. It's thought that dragons increase the effectiveness of magic and thats why the Warlock would want them. They just need Dany to make sure the dragons grow up and become stronger thereby making the magic more powerful as well.

As for Project Pet, he could give a damn about those dragons IMO. He just wanted to become King and eliminate the competition.

1. To kill the other thirteen
2. Because he still wants her to marry him (power move)... "the dragons need their mother" so after she witnessed how serious/capable he was about his ambition, he hoped she'd acquiesce.

Tho, even if she does agree, he'll be looking over his shoulder for the entirety of the marriage, so I'm sure what his end game is...

Disagree.

If that was the case, he could've left Dany out of it and did the same thing with Baldie. I think he wants that Iron Throne. He is to Dany what Melissandre is to Stannis.

But that was the deal they made. The Warlock gets the dragons and Xaro becomes King. He wants to open Qarth to the world to increase its wealth like he explained to the others before they were killed. Perhaps,he wouldn't have been able to kill them all without the Warlocks help. Who knows why he didn't try it on his own :manny:

I'd have to re-watch, but I swear he stated specifically, to Dany, that he wanted that power couple and wanted to aid her in capturing the iron throne.

She declined, so he went to plan B. :smugfavre:

And if she still declines, I'd bet there's a plan C that involves that white hand maiden raising the dragons :ehh:
