Usually. For Insecure, sometimes there was a delay. But for True Detective every week the new episode was there instantly.

Season 7 made me appreciate season 5. Season 5 still felt like thrones outside of the Dorne disaster but 7 felt like an entirely different show. The writing was poor, the plots were poor, and the show became more production value than story. I feared this would happen when the show became less about politics and more about fantasy.

We're kinda there now and it's kinda expected. The time is now, winter is here. S7 and S8 are the grand finale.

It's almost guaranteed this season will be disappointing to some fans.
